Our story
It was 1978 when Mauro Pratesi, an eclectic and ingenious elementary school teacher from Casalguidi, a small Tuscan village at the foot of the Montalbano hills in Pistoia, decided to realize an idea he had carried in his heart for too many years: to produce spring mattresses.
At that time, the spring mattress was an absolutely innovative idea. In fact, having lived for a period in the United States where spring mattresses were a highly appreciated reality, he thought that this novelty would also be liked in Italy.
In the 1970s, there were not many models of spring mattresses, but since they were more comfortable, durable, and required no maintenance except to flip them during the warm and cold seasons, they quickly gained ground with great customer satisfaction.
Spring mattresses were certainly sober, but very effective and comfortable; the springs allowed flexibility, shape retention, and perfect breathability, the coconut fiber distributed the weight over the springs, the wool and cotton offered an ideal temperature during the summer and winter seasons, the fabric, generally cotton, was sturdy, breathable, and beautiful to look at, and finally, skilled craftsmanship, with the help of a few machines, gave shape to the spring mattress and consequently to a new way of sleeping.
This is how our story began; since then, the evolution linked to the philosophy of well-being has been constant and always looking to the future, but always attentive to giving that added value that only skilled craftsmanship can provide. For this reason, every day we add something more: our experience.
The constant commitment to reducing artificial raw materials in favor of natural ones has given us much satisfaction and above all has provided customers with a pleasant and natural sense of well-being.
For this reason and due to increasing demand, today we produce a wide range of mattresses that use innovative structural systems and the finest natural raw materials.
We have always researched and selected the best innovative and certified technical materials to provide concrete and reliable answers for anti-allergy and fireproof systems for the hospitality and nautical sectors with their endless customizations.
Thanks to the satisfaction of our customers, we have been able to achieve multiple goals; by the end of the 1980s, we had crossed regional borders and began national and international distribution; in the early 1990s, we were among the first Italian manufacturers to certify a series of mattresses and upholstered beds in Class 1 IM that complied with the safety regulations required in the hotel sector; in the mid-1990s, we developed a fabric against dust mite allergens, later adopted by many allergists, breathable and washable, in short, with effective technical characteristics and economically accessible to all; in 2003, we obtained ISO 9002 certification for Corporate Quality; for almost 20 years, we have been meticulously supplying mattresses for large yachts, meeting all the needs of yacht owners.
Always using certified raw materials and structures, it was only natural to register a wide range of products with the Ministry of Health as Class I Medical Devices and CE marked, which, in addition to guaranteeing top well-being, benefit from the tax deductions provided for Medical Devices.
Today we can boast over 40 models of mattresses for the most varied needs and we guarantee a quality confirmed by the trust that our customers show us every day.
